It's 12:43 in the morning, I have a 9-hour drive tomorrow, and I can't sleep. Figured I should post here to give some details about the good news I got on Tuesday, since I'm otherwise just sitting here re-reading a very good Naruto fanfiction for the ... um. Probably sixth time? Maybe more.

... wow, that's embarrassing.

So! That's the story, as it stands now. Any questions about what I'm doing or when I lost my mind or grew another set of balls or both are more than welcome. I'm just plainly thrilled. Out of Ohio at last! :D

Last night at 5:30, I was driving into town to meet my in-laws for dinner to celebrate Mr. Quickly's birthday with his family, and on the ramp leading into Athens, met a car coming the wrong way on a one-way street. We collided, and my car was thrown.

I'll be in a brace for six weeks while my collarbone heals. My cellphone, eyeglasses, and car are all destroyed and need to be replaced. I'm in some pain, but it's not unbearable. All-in-all, I feel very blessed for all that went right, and am looking forward to a good recovery.

So. Um. *nervous chuckle*

I don't normally do con reports--they seem kinda redundant to me--but this past Ohayocon was so spectacular that I think I'm gonna have to do one.

It didn't win (I think because we put it into "comedy" rather than "upbeat") but it was incredibly well-received by the audience, and I'm still incredibly proud of it. *A*

Other than that ... we had great roommates (mitscheesan, pockygirl, and dizzysumo) and great stuff to go to, our hotel room was up too fucking high but really? It was awesome.

As most of you know, I work for Ohio University Press, a small book press that publishes the kinds of books people talk about in coffee shops, glasses slid down their noses and salt-and-pepper hair tied back in a braid too neat to be a hippy's but too long to be a yuppy's. My co-workers are all, without exception, quirky, but they're good people. Bat-shit insane, the lot of them.

( Today's insanity, however, beats most other else. )
